In 2022 a new fragrance, Root, joins the Eclectic London, Royalty, Underground and Alchemy fragrances. A key ingredient in the new fragrance is turmeric, which is the first time the material is being used by the fragrance industry. The turmeric root and leaf are upcycled materials from the food and pharma industries which crush the roots to extract curcumin. Once curcumin is obtained, the roots and leaves are usually thrown away. However, research by our scent partners, International Flavors and Fragrances has shown that oil be extracted and processed to be used in fragrance.
The turmeric root oil is sweet, spicy and warm with a bitter note and the leaf oil is peppery and citrusy. Another key ingredient is ginger, which gives Eclectic Root a dry and sharp fragrance, without being sickly sweet. The quality of ginger (Ginger Oil Fresh LMR) is another component which is unique to the fragrance industry, as the steam distillation is done on freshly harvested roots, as opposed to on dried roots bringing the ginger notes to life.
Made with 15% fragrance and lasts up to 8-12 weeks
